DJI’s First 360° Imaging System – DJI Osmo 360 Camera

DJI has expanded its camera ecosystem with the Osmo 360, the company's first fully integrated 360-degree camera. Designed for immersive video capture, the Osmo 360 brings together high-resolution recording, a compact rugged form factor, and compatibility with DJI’s accessory ecosystem.

Targeted toward content creators, action sports filmmakers, and immersive media professionals, the Osmo 360 offers 8K resolution, in-camera stitching, and a range of intelligent features for stabilized, hands-free shooting.

Sensor & Imaging Technology

At the core of the Osmo 360 is an industry-first square HDR sensor. Measuring approximately 1 inch diagonally, the sensor delivers 8K 360° video capture at up to 50 fps, and still images up to 120 megapixels. The sensor design utilizes 2.4μm pixels, enhancing low-light performance, reducing noise, and increasing dynamic range.

  • Video resolution: 7680 × 3840 @ 30/50 fps (360° mode)
  • Single-lens mode: Up to 5K/60 fps or 4K/120 fps
  • Photo resolution: 15,520 × 7,760 (360° stills)
  • Color profiles: Includes 10-bit D-Log M for extended post-production flexibility
  • Dynamic Range: Rated at 13.5 stops
  • Aperture: f/1.9

Capture Modes

The Osmo 360 supports multiple shooting configurations:

  • 360° Dual-Lens Mode: Seamless spherical capture with automatic in-camera stitching
  • Single-Lens Mode: Operates as a traditional action camera with up to 170° field of view
  • Boost Mode: Enables high-frame-rate slow motion (up to 4K/120 fps)
  • Invisible Selfie Stick Mode: AI-assisted removal of the extension rod from footage for drone-like perspectives
  • Smart Tracking & Voice Control: Enables subject locking and gesture-based triggering

Form Factor & Build

The Osmo 360 has a compact stacked design, weighing 183 g and measuring approximately 81 × 61 × 36 mm. It features a rugged body engineered for action-oriented use cases.

  • Waterproof Rating: IP68 (up to 10 meters without a housing)
  • Operating Temperature: Down to –20°C
  • Quick-Release Mount: Compatible with DJI’s magnetic mounting system
  • Accessory Support: Works with existing Osmo Action accessories and a range of threaded mounts

Stabilization & Software

DJI includes multiple stabilization technologies in the Osmo 360:

  • HorizonSteady: Maintains level horizon during motion
  • RockSteady: EIS stabilization in action-intensive environments
  • In-Camera Stitching: Eliminates the need for post-stitching in most scenarios
  • DJI Mimo App Support: Enables remote control, live preview, AI editing, and tracking

Audio & Connectivity

DJI introduces a new OsmoAudio wireless microphone system, which pairs directly with the Osmo 360 without requiring external receivers.

  • Direct-to-camera audio recording from up to two wireless mics
  • Built-in microphones for spatial audio capture
  • Connectivity: USB-C, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1
  • Storage: 105 GB internal, with microSD support up to 1 TB

Battery & Power Options

The built-in battery offers up to 100 minutes of 8K/30fps recording, with extended recording possible using an optional battery extension rod.

  • Standard Runtime: ~100 minutes
  • Extended Runtime: Up to ~180 minutes
  • Charging: 50% capacity in 12 minutes with fast-charging adapter

Ecosystem & Compatibility

The Osmo 360 integrates into DJI’s broader accessory and software ecosystem:

  • DJI Mimo App for mobile control and editing
