SHAPE Rolls On, With The New Wagon 40″ Camera Cart

SHAPE is on a roll these days, delving into new production equipment lines with tripods, grip gear and now carts! The Wagon 40" Camera Cart (WAG40) is an entirely new product line for SHAPE. One that I'm personally quite excited about! Purchasing large items like dollies and carts, can be a challenge in the Great White North, as the manufacturers are usually based elsewhere. Meaning that one often has to special order larger items, and sometimes pay a fair amount for shipping. SHAPE's move into production carts ought to make getting carts a little easier... dollies next, perhaps?

As with most production carts, the WAG40 is designed to be versatile. It's perfect for camera assistants, DITs, DMTs, photographers, or even technicians needing an AV cart. According to the WAG40 page on SHAPE's website, the cart collapses down into a travel case, with a travel handle and built-in wheels for easy transport. There is also a spring-loaded latch system to secure the collapsed cart in place, and two side handle cutouts for loading/unloading. The production cart requires no tools for assembly/disassembly either, allowing the process to take only a few minutes.

The SHAPE Wagon is CNC manufactured out of a combination of steel and aluminum alloy, and includes two carpeted mats to eliminate excessive noise, and prevent the scratching of equipment. It comes equipped with all-terrain wheels, with 360° swivel casters and high-load foot brakes on the back wheels. The WAG40's payload is quite impressive too, capable of supporting over 440 lbs (200 Kg).

The four corner posts on the cart lock into place, and offer expandable interfaces for connecting light stands and accessories. A front fence includes 1/4"-20 & 3/8’’-16 threaded holes, with ARRI anti-rotating interfaces for attaching accessories. For those needing an on-set office workspace in a pinch, there is even a foldable back fence. And, as a nice finishing touch, SHAPE is including an aluminum nameplate that can be engraved by the user, to make the cart their own.

The WAGON 40’’ camera cart comes with a 3-year warranty.
